Lake Powell 2009

The beautiful sight of our houseboat and Gunsight Butte taken from the huge sand hill above our site. I don't think there is a more beautiful place on earth!
Cole had a blast jumping into this "mud hole." This is typical Cole...just flying around crazy!

Kyle also loved playing in the mud bath and really enjoyed playing with his cousins.

Hannah had a great time with her cousins and she was also able to get up on the wakeboard for a few seconds. She and Blake also love riding the kneeboard.

Here Curtis is flying high off the new tower we got for the boat. The biggest hit by far was the tube! Everyone had fun flying around on that thing.

Blake celebrated his 9th birthday with a luau. Here Curtis and Blake are showing off their scary Tongan warrior faces.

Blake and Hannah are really getting into the hula dancing.

The highlight for Blake and Cole was catching fish off the back of the boat every morning. Blake is still having dreams about catching fish

Blake and Lisa went to the Hogel Zoo today with his 3rd grade class. We had a great time with excellent weather. The animals were active and we especially enjoyed the bird show. Tomorrow is the last day of school and we are really looking forward to the summer break. Hannah and Blake are now playing baseball and Cole is playing tee ball (SO CUTE!). Blake met his reading goal for the year and as a reward he got to dunk his principle in a dunking machine. It was really funny because he also had to kiss a llama (it was supposed to be a pig....but with swine flu they were a little worried). He was a great sport.

Hannah and Blake participated in another swim meet this past Saturday. They did wonderful and both got big trophies. Hannah got 5th place and Blake got 3rd. We are so proud of them!
They had to make sure their trophies were safe on the ride home.

Cole graduated from preschool this past week. He also went to a practice day at kindergarden and is now very confused. He thinks he should go to the big school every day now. What a cutie!

Hannah and Blake had a great soccer season this year. They were undefeated and both played excellent! Curtis was their coach and did a great job.

Hannah was the Indian Chief in her 4th grade play all about Wyoming History.
Cole and Kyle enjoying some yummy cupcakes at Cole's spring party at preschool.

It was our first official Pinewood Derby. Blake and Curtis had a lot of fun building this hot rod!!

We had the great opportunity to coach Hannah & Blake's Jr. Jazz Baketball team. They did great and had a really fun time.
If looks could kill!!! This was Hannah's response to us telling her "no" to getting a cell phone. We aren't even in the teenage years yet! She's going to kill me for posting this, but I thougt it was classic.

Kyle and Cole playing around at bedtime.

Hannah and Blake went to the state swimming competition and had a great time. Blake got medals for 6 of his 7 events (you have to be in the top 8 to get a medal) and his best place was 3rd in the backstroke. Hannah got a few ribbons for her events. It was really fun and we are so proud of them!

I have figured out why it takes me so long to post on these blogs. Its because it takes me FOREVER to go through all my pictures and remove all the red eyes!! Oh well, we are still plugging away here in the middle of nowhere. The kids are doing well in school and have fun in all the extra activites they are involved in. Hannah and Blake will be swimming next week in the state championships. Blake has quailified in 7 events and Hannah in 2 events. Last weekend we went to Pinedale and Blake won all of his races but one, which he lost by one-tenth of a second! So we think he is going to do pretty well next week. Cole loves preschool and got to go on a few field trips (post office and dog sled races). Kyle is still working on the potty training thing, we are just about there. Curtis is keeping busy and would like to do more fishing but can't seem to fit it in. I am just doing the fun mom stuff but I will be substitute teaching the early morning seminary class next week....wish me luck!

Hannah turned 10 in January and loved her panda cake. These kids are so funny, I ask them if they would like a nice cake from the store but they would rather have these retarded ones that I make at home. I shouldn't complain, but they look pretty funny on the blog! She got to have a bowling party with about 12 silly girls and a few crazy brothers. I can't believe it has been 10 years since she came into our life and nothing has been the same since. I wish time would slow down a little.
